August 18-19
The weather and or the weatherman has not been our best friend the last two days. Yesterday the weather kept us from doing any hiking. Today we were able to visit Lake Junaluska again and take the 4 mile trail around the lake. The weatherman said it would rain all afternoon and at this point it has only rained about 3 minutes. We have covered most of the hikes within a half hour of the cabin. Most of the hikes we would like to make are an hour or more away so it is hard to make that commitment if the weather doesn’t look good
Our next door neighbors, the sheep came out for a few minutes yesterday. Down the driveway (about a half mile and 300 feet in elevation) we have half a dozen cows which have their own watch dog. The sheep are behind an electric fence.
