A Rain Delay
A rain-soaked mountain pause, a Waynesville visit, and small discoveries around the cabin.
Rain kept us off the trail for two days, so we made the most of a slower mountain interlude. We spent time in Waynesville, a welcoming downtown with restaurants and plenty of places to browse.
The next day, we drove all the way to the trailhead hoping the rain would let up. It did not, so we returned to the cabin, took a two-and-a-half-mile walk around the property, and found a few more waterfalls along the way.
Not every travel day needs a summit. Sometimes the view from the driveway, a damp forest walk, and a quiet cabin day become part of the story too.
