The Great Smoky Mountains
Two weeks of trails, mountain air, and quiet overlooks in the Great Smoky Mountains.
We spent two weeks on hiking trails in the Great Smoky Mountains, settling into a cabin high above the valleys and letting the changing mountain weather set the pace.
At roughly 3,000 feet, the air felt cooler and the views stretched farther than we expected. Each trail brought a different mix of forest, rushing water, and ridgelines fading into the distance.
The Smokies reward patience. The best moments came between destinations: mist lifting from the trees, a quiet overlook, and the simple pleasure of being on the trail together.
