Stone Pile Gap Trail To Deep Creek

We headed south again today to the Smokey Mountain Park and the Deep Creek area which is near Bryson NC. We hiked just short of 8 miles and 1,500 feet of elevation gain. In addition of using the Deep Creek trail again we used the Rock Pile Gap Trail to start and finish. This was a difficult trail as it went up from the beginning and had five creek fords. The trail was a river and was all rock. This is a great area that we return to year after year. In addition to great hiking the area offers great tubing.
